Homeward Animal Shelter foster families do not have to pay for anything when fostering a pet (s). This is a no-cost-to-you arrangement, and all supplies, food and vet care will be paid for by the Homeward Animal Shelter. Some foster families do decide they would like to buy their foster pet toys or treats, however, this is by no means expected. Homeward Bound, Addison County’s Humane Society, is a private and independent 501(c)(3) open admission shelter dedicated to protecting the well being of homeless, abandoned and abused/neglected animals. We serve an average of 950 animals per year, including those who enter the shelter and those who receive services in the community. Truthfully, caring for a pet is expensive.
