I personally find Riverside easier than Rosewood; however, the peak day multiplier and OP's permanent low-population cell where they spawned might make day 0 Rosewood easier than post-peak Riverside. So in this case, Riverside is most likely a reasonable step up if they're traveling there instead of starting a new character/world.
