A van build is going to be tailored to your own needs more than a camper, and also will be of stronger construction/last longer. A van build will offer some semblance of privacy and stealth, which may or may not be a concern. You absolutely must loosen the laces, as they come very tight from Vans (not sure why, but all of my half cabs are laced too tight out of the box).
