Nov 14, 2023 · 1972 There are no "60" prefixes for a 45 Colt Blackhawk but there is an "80" prefix .... the 6 was a factory mistake and as such, your Blackhawk was born in 1972. BTW, the "60" serial number prefix was used on Old Model Super Single-Sixes (22 cal) 45 Cal Blackhawks were introduced in mid-1971 and went out of production in mid-1973. .
