Walker McGinnis Hayes, 17, passed away on February 20, 2023. He was born in Gaston County, on March 30, 2005 to Tim and Monica Jenkins Hayes. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Reginald “Reggie” Kelly Hayes. Walker was a people person, he loved people of all ages. Carrie Knox Lipscomb was born on July 30, 1945 and she transitioned on September 2, 2021. She was born in Washington, DC but she’s been a native of Gaston County for over seventy years. Mrs. Lipscomb was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge AME Zion Church where she served as a member of the choir.
